Mangiafico's Bakery & Pastry Shoppe is a family owned business located in the heart of Plainville Ct. Owner Salvatore Mangiafico uses years of experience and craftmanship to create cakes and pasteries just like in the old country. The main ingredient for the success of his bakery is simple---love! Running the bakery isn't a job for Sal--he's doing what he loves...making the finest bread, pastries and cakes you can imagine. And, it doesn't stop there--Sal enjoys meeting his customers and getting to know them--Mangiafico's is part of the community.
Sal was born in Sicily, immigrating to the United States where he started his career in baking at Motta's Bakery, located in Hartford's Italian South End. In July of 1985, Sal realized he had found his calling and, when the opportunity arose, he bought Motta's Bakery. Baking makes me happy, he says. When you love what you do, it's not work. On April 1, 1996, Sal found his way to Plainville here he opened Mangiafico's Bakery & Pastry Shoppe with the help of his three loving children. The bakery has been a staple to the community every since. You can't miss the green, white and red roof.
Since 1996, Sal and Mangiafico's have both become household names in the Plainville community and surrounding towns. This is due both to the quality foods and desserts he makes, as well as the personal service he and his employees give every customer.
Mangiafico's breads, baked goods, Italian pastries, wedding and specialty cakes are all made by hand and absolutely delicious. Stop by, meet Sal and try one of our taste sensations...you'll find yourself coming back time and time again...
